 Captain David
Brannan was hired by the winter Haven Police Department as a
non-sworn Community Service Officer on December 14, 1992.
In August 1993 he became a Police Officer I. He was
promoted to Sergeant in July 2000, promoted to Lieutenant in
2004 and
in October 2007, he was promoted to the rank of Captain.
He has served as commander of the Uniform Services
Bureau and as of October 1, 2009, assumed command of the
Investigative Services Bureau.
From 1997 until December 2000, he was a K-9 Officer. He was
also assigned to Patrol, Detectives, Narcotics and Community
Divisions at different times. He has been an Emergency
Response Team member since 1996 and serves as Team
Commander.
Captain Brannan holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Criminology from St. Leo University in Dade City,
FL.
